When I was 14 years old, on a whim, I decided to enter 3 pictures into the BBC Nature Photography Competition.  To my surprise, I later discovered that 2 had won prizes. A few years later, armed with just a compact camera, I started taking photographs as a hobby in Australia, whilst studying for my BSc Biological Sciences Hons degree.  Since then, I have been teaching myself the ins and out of photography and gradually taking more and more pictures along the way.

At the end of 2014 I decided to make the jump and take my photography to the next level, by embarking on another degree.

I joined the MSc Biological Photography & Imaging course at University of Nottingham.  During the year I was lucky enough to do both outdoor nature and studio photography, image editing, filming, film editing, graphic design and web design.

My dissertation project took me to the Outer Hebrides for a month, photographing the flora and fauna of the Isles of Harris, Lewis and North Uist. The book I created, titled 'Hebridean Wildlife: The Machair & Beyond', has been published and is available to purchase as a PDF from Blurb or as a printed book from Amazon.  A preview is available on the Book page of this website.

Since graduating in December 2015, I have continued to expand my portfolio, incorporating a range of subjects, locations and photography styles. In 2018 I co-founded Bearded Seagull Arts & Crafts Collective, where a selection of my photographs are available to purchase as greetings cards and prints.
